“Transforming the European wine industry
through gender equality and violence prevention”

Grapes of Change is a European initiative addressing gender-based violence, discrimination and unsafe working conditions in the wine sector. Funded by the European Union under the CERV programme and running from 2025 to 2028, it brings together 14 organisations across eight countries: Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Portugal and Croatia.

The initiative is built around three pillars. The Observatory collects and analyses data on workplace experiences across Europe, creating the first sector-specific evidence base on these issues. The training programme equips companies and workers with practical tools to recognise, prevent and address problematic situations. The stakeholder network connects wineries, business organisations, civil society and public authorities in a shared effort to raise standards across the industry.

Grapes of Change works with the wine sector, not just about it. Companies that engage with the initiative contribute to building collective knowledge while accessing resources that help them improve their own practices.
